NELA-NJ Events
NELA-NJ hosts various educational and social opportunities throughout the year, which include an all-day annual educational conference, multiple educational dinner meetings, and special events for its members and members of the legal community at large. These programs enable our members to engage in continuing education with timely, relevant topics related to employment law, earn CLE credits, and expand their practices through valuable networking with lawyers in other areas of practice.

NELA-NJ ANNUAL EMPLOYMENT LAW CONFERENCE - FEB 20, 2026

Record-Breaking Day for NELA-NJ! Largest turnout in NELA-NJ history. The day opened with the extraordinary Courageous Counsel Award!
For their work representing DOJ whistleblower Erez Reuveni, Kevin Owen, Dana Gold and Andrea Meza received the NELA-NJ 2026 “Courageous Counsel” Award! Owen, Gold and Meza took on Reuveni as a whistleblower client in 2025, after the DOJ terminated him for refusing to follow unethical directives including misleading the courts, suppressing evidence in immigration cases, and hiding information about an erroneous deportation. His case received national attention and is calling into question the state of the rule of law at the DOJ. Reuveni received NELA-NJ's 2026 Courageous Plaintiff Award for his bravery in speaking out.

We had a fantastic evening at The Frog & The Peach—from the amazing food and beautiful atmosphere to the even better company. An amazing time was truly had by all.
Great people. Great conversations. Well-deserved awards. Fun games. Lots of laughs. Grateful to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community at National Employment Lawyers Association – New Jersey. Nights like this are a reminder of why this group is so special.
