  • On March 12, 2013, President Claudia Reis was interviewed by the news department of WBGO (88.3 FM) concerning Governor Christie’s proposed regulations to the unemployment compensation program that, if passed, will require claimants to search for job openings on a state run on-line jobs board called www.jobs4jersey.com
  • On February 25, 2013, the New Jersey Law Journal published an article submitted by President Claudia Reis on behalf of NELA-NJ entitled "CEPA's Phantom Exception Why Whistling While You Work Is Protected"
  • On February 21, 2013, NELA-NJ endorsed Nancy Erika Smith for Second Vice President of the New Jersey State Bar Association;
  • On January 29, 2013, Secretary and Program Committee Co-Chair Hanan Isaacs, testified before the Department of Labor concerning pending unemployment regulations that require revision
  • On September 20, 2012, Claudia Reis testified before the Senate Labor Committee in support of a law that would prohibit employers from requiring employees to disclose their social networking user names or passwords. Excerpts of her testimony were quoted in various periodicals.
